Most realistic dating sim
The MC could have known them before or be introduced some other way.
As for plot and pacing I think you can have both, not every situation needs to be super serious but at the same time it doesn’t need to be overly goofy all the time either having both elements play in the story telling can create very memorable moments, these can also be used to drive the plot forward and for branching stories provide excellent diversions that may tie into the story later. It’s another device you could use to tell your story.
So you’re not a fan of MC being able to choose their gender and/or of male romantic options at all?
We’re planning on two female options, even assuming we gender-lock the MC as female (which is something we’re considering but have not decided upon at this point in time.
Well, if we were to do voice acting, it would most definitely be in a professional capacity, using hired actors.
Our characters are starting to take shape, their subplots intertwining nicely, but this is going to be a big game; at least 25k words (pre-code) per locked-in route.
), I’ve been brewing up an otome/otoge/dating sim with a very close friend of mine. What do you think of implementing things like (fake) social media and text messages?
We’ve been talking about writing one for years, and we decided to do the majority of the writing during Na No (despite both being incredibly busy young women). Not as a required aspect of gameplay, but for flavor text with the RO’s and to see how you’re progressing in the plot line (are you on the path to a good end, etc)? I’ll make note of your opinions and send them my partner’s way, so we can continue to banter back and forth about the best route to take for coding.
I’m very big picture oriented, while she’s more detail-oriented, and as such, I’m already worrying about the things I’m going to have to code and plan for, whilst she’s still focusing on silly things like “names” and “settings” As such, I actually have a few questions regarding certain tropes and behind the scenes stuff for our resident otome gamers (of which I know there are Awesome! EDIT: I don’t know if you are funding yourself or relying on donations but you should do kickstarter or patreon regardless btw, because if you just use it like a tip jar or something to unlock extra stuff like cheat codes then you’ll still be getting some extra money and if it does not do well then it won’t be a massive deal because you are not 100% relying on it to make the game. We haven’t fully decided how we’re going to do funding, at this point in time.
